IBM proposes Linux on every server it sells, which is definitly not the case
for Win: they're selling it only on their low/middle class machines...
Having worked at IBM for 3 years in France, I can say that Linux was, 3
years ago, seen as a f***ing new product that IBM's trying to propose... it
is now one of IBM's classical and most growing proposal.
I agree with Ole when he speaks about built-in Linux products... as an
exemple, many firewall/network devices run Linux OS's (Linksys, which has
been buyed by Cisco is quite well introduced in this market -- even though I
had bad experiences with Linksys products ;).)
Another appliance are industry's robots... every single Peugot-Citroen robot
is Unix/Linux based.
My girlfriend works in realtime research and she's never seen an appliance
running Windows (I had been deseperatly trying to make her use Linux... she
finally had to).
