Are you sure that the authorisation is working?  The  
"permit_sasl_authenticated" in smtpd_recipient_restrictions should do  
the right thing (and it works for me), but obviously it'll only allow  
the mail if the client has previously authenticated using SASL.  Have  
you got the smtp logs showing that the SASL authentication has worked?
