[ILUG] Suggestions for best 64 bit Linux distro?

X86_64 machines tend to be already optimised for X86_64.

Why? Since no other processors will run those kernels.
Also because there is only one ADM64 architecture (for the moment, AFAIK)

Please correct me if I am wrong lads.
