You didn't say what local was for you but here's one that is local to 
Ireland anyway, and also to this list - U.S. patent #6169975. At a 
guess, Trintech and Alphyra are infringing this in their equipment, and 
companies such as An Post and Easons are infringing it as users.

Now this IS a U.S. patent - but you may be sure there will be a slew of 
such patents registered here just as soon as the current directive is 
finally passed.

The PRO is in England at the moment, but I'm sure we could provide
