 I don't want to pay for the line rental on a second phone line, that's
the problem. If I have to pay for a phone line anyway, I may as well use
it for dialup, and don't bother getting broadband.

 I was hoping someone new of a widget that'd give you a pstn connection on
one end, and a usb (or something) on the other, so I could use my
broadband connection to keep the monitored alarm going with Eircom
Phonewatch.
