[ILUG] Eircom Dial-up

Hi all,

     I've installed the hcf pci modem drivers and got them working
with ppp using pon and poff. When I type pon eircom the modem picks up
and dials. It does all it's stuff but never connects. Looking at the
output of the syslog the last few lines is something like CHAP
challenge key <xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> name : something
(can't remember) then the pppd responds with
response key <xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> name : username.
then it say authentication failed and hangs up. I'm using eircom flat
rate if it's of any interest and it's always take one or two tries to
get on with windows but it never gets on with Linux. Any help or ideas
appreciated. Just in case your wondering I'm pretty sure the config is
correct since I used pppconfig to set it up.
