I'm not too sure about the legitimacy of giving copies of SuSE CDs. I
think it's OK but selling them may be still an issue. However, I do
have the CDs and am perfectly willing to give you a copy. In principle,
you don't specifically need a SuSE 9.2 CD as any bootable CD with a
current copy of grub SHOULD work. In practice, I KNOW that grub-install
from the SuSE 9.2 CD-1 in rescue mode works out of the box, which
wasn't the case with previous releases of SuSE, so it'd be the one to
use IMO. Do you have a broadband connection, and a CD burner and a
suitable program to burn ISOs under Windows so that you could download
the CD if I made it available somewhere? If not, I live in the Lucan
area if you want to collect a copy, and can't find anyone nearer to
you.

You boot from CD #1, choosing the rescue option, and run grub-install,
but you may very well have to first mount some disk partitions, and
give grub-install certain options - this is dependent on how you have
partitioned your disk.

That's not going to be any good to you though if you haven't got some
bootable Linux media from which you can restore that copy.
