If you don't object to dell, their machines are usually okay (some 
people have problems, yes).

The dell outlet store can have good pricing, and they're permanently 
doing various specials on the full price machines as well.

For 300 EUR + VAT you can get a Celeron 2.4G machine. Not the bees 
knees, but not a bad machine either.
