Your making life hard for yourself!

It is easier to simply install common programs/servers from your
distribution rather then trying to use third party binary/source packages.

I haven't run a version of Suse since the erea of RedHat 5.x (can't
remember the Suse version), though I did do a minimal network install
about a year ago just to have a quick look. I may as well know nothing
about Suse so if you need specifics I'm sure someone else will chip in.

I assume Suse includes mysql so is there a reason why you didn't install it?

I'm also assuming Suse has an apt-get/yum equivalent to let you install
packages and dependencies over a network/the internet? If not your
still better off gathering up the packages you need from Suse and
installing them.

Niall
