Hi Barry,

It specifies the driver versions needed for each PERC card.

4/SC is single channel, 4/DC is dual channel, and 4/QC is quad channel.

Also, the DC and QC versions have more cache memory resulting in better
performance (but at
an increased price of course). So the SC is a lower end hardware RAID
card, but is decent for the price. 
I am obviously biased of course, so you may want a more objective
opinion on that ;)
