I googled and couldnt find the difference or the reason.

My understanding was the a password is something like "password" and a
passphrase is something like "this is longer and funkier so I can
remember it easily yet its really hard to brute force it", but that
conceptually they were the same, and technically interchangable. No?
Also, whats the reason?
