Hi,
FINAL PLANS!
There will be 3 keysigning events - Limerick, Galway and Dublin. Please
feel free to distribute the information regarding these events to anyone
/ any organisation you think may be interested in coming along. The more
the merrier :-)
- -----------------------------------------------------------------
For anyone interested in getting their GPG / PGP keys cross-signed or
just meeting other technical people in a social context, there will be a
series of informal keysigning parties over the next week in Limerick,
Galway and Dublin.
All are welcome to attend (though they are in licensed premises (bars)
so licensing law and age restrictions apply - sorry.)
LIMERICK:
The Hurlers, Dublin Road.
Tuesday, 6th September, 8:00pm ~ 10:30pm (approx.) / late.
mail keyinfo to: keysigning.limerick at signal2noise.co.uk
GALWAY:
Monroe's
Friday, 9th September, 8:00pm ~ 10:30pm (approx.) / late
mail keyinfo to: keysigning.galway at signal2noise.co.uk
DUBLIN:
The Long Stone
Sunday, 11th September, 8:00pm ~ 10:30pm (approx.) / late
mail keyinfo to: keysigning.dublin at signal2noise.co.uk
INSTRUCTIONS:
Please feel free to attend one or more of the above events. Bring a pen
and some paper with you - you will need to note which keys and people
you have verified so that you can sign them on your own computer at home
/ in the office after the event.
Required items (please feel free to correct / add items if I've missed
stuff or have not given sufficient information) are:
- Money (to purchase beer)
- Some government issued picture ID (passport, drivers licence, ...) 2
items would be preferable.
- Your face (to match with the picture ID)
- Your e-mail address
- The key fingerprint associated with the e-mail address.
- The keyserver where you maintain your key.
- Pen and paper (or electronic equivalent) on which to note other
people's details that you've verified so you can sign their keys when
you get home.
So, for example, I would bring the output of gpg --fingerprint 43ef211f:
$ gpg --fingerprint 43ef211f
pub 1024D/43EF211F 2005-03-01 [expires: 2015-02-27]
~ Key fingerprint = 2EF6 A501 133A FA2C 4D53 3B80 2B7E 82E7 43EF 211F

sub 2048g/94B2A66A 2005-03-01 [expires: 2015-02-27]
Maintained on: subkeys.pgp.net
Along with my passport and drivers license with a photo that vaguely
matches the head attached to my shoulders.
If people can e-mail the output of gpg --fingerprint <keyID> and the
keyserver they keep their key on to the e-mail addresses listed above
(keysigning.<county>@signal2noise.co.uk) I will make up some lists and
bring printouts to save time to the respective venues.
I look forward to swapping many signatures and meeting people I've not
met before.
Best regards,
- -->Gar
