But one, has usually already read the older messages, so why not put
them to the bottom out of the way, and let them read the important
stuff first, and then give them the freedom to decide for themselves
if they want to refer to older messages.

Sometimes there may be a large amount of previous text that is
relevent to current mail.

That's like saying that because a spoilt child won't shut up until he
gets sweets that giving them sweets is the right thing to do? As this
topic has demonstrated, not everyone supports the bottom-posting-only
'rule' or the 'logic' behind it. Some only do it to keep the crying
children happy.

The majority of voters aparently support the FF/PD government. That
doesn't necessarly mean that we should all vote FF just because other
people do. This is modern Ireland. Not Nazi Germany.
