Better to use ntp surely. If he is posting from his linux box, then it has
intarweb access.

Configure ntpclient Les, its soooo easy you would not believe it.

$ man ntpdate
or if using redhat:

# system-config-date

So then, why use ntp rather than just changing the time a la main?
Well, unless you have an atomic closk in you PC, then the clock will drift on
its owny own, and ntp is dead easy.
