It's a great tactic. Rather than Vodathing actually taking comments on
board and perhaps implementing some improvements to the service you get
fobbed off with free goodies and are forgotten about. Minimum effort!

Knowing what I know about Vodathing's customer service you were lucky to
get anything. This fobbing people off with goodies thing must be new...
must be a gesture towards providing a service people actually want to use.
