For Frank's requirements, I thought of trplayer, which is a
commandline program that uses realplayer's libraries. However, I
recently tried to install it under Ubuntu Hoary, and realplayer 10,
but it failed to find the right libraries. It worked fine with
earlier versions of realplayer, but it doesn't seem to be
currently under development.
