Are you using the same kernel and ppp packages on the linux server
machine and client machine? Which MPPE patches have you applied to pppd
and the kernel?
Can we have a look at your pptpd and pppd configs on client and server?
As Baruch mentioned, try adding debug to both on client and server.
What are the routing tables like on client and server after connect?
Do the correct IPs get assigned to the connection?
Make sure your windows clients are *actually* connecting in the fashion
you'd like - unless you tick the various "require encryption" boxes,
they silently fall back to unencrypted if an encrypted connection fails.
