First pointer:
Never send a message to a mailing list without a subject. The subject
is all I read on most of the mails to mailing lists, and unless I
think it is something that will interest me, or I feel i can
contribute to, I generally move on.

Second pointer: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
If you haven't read it before. Your post was fine(except for the lack
of a subject), but it may prove interesting/useful in the future.
