[ILUG] linux Flash, and single-threaded sound

I use a laptop. As such, I get to have all the fun of persuading linux
software mixing to work... :(

I managed to get this working a while back using these config files:
http://taint.org/wk/AlsaSoftwareMixing -- but since then, there's been
regressions. It seems that modern versions of the Flash plugin (as
distributed in Ubuntu Breezy) don't use any form of sound server output;
same with RealPlayer 10.

So I'm running:

    - ALSA, with software mixing via dmix, as the hardware interface
    - esd, playing to ALSA
    - artsd, playing to ALSA

(yes, that's two sound servers. It's unavoidable, really.)

So does anyone know of a way to persuade Flash/RealPlayer to coexist? I
can fool RealPlayer by starting it with "aoss realplay" -- but that's a
fat lot of use when I click on a Real link in a webpage or hit a
plugin-using page. "aoss firefox" looks promising though.

Anyone got any other tricks?
