[ILUG] sendmail + dovecot + outlook problem

You would have been better off leaving the exim install that came with
sarge as it was and running "dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config"
(not to start a flamewar over which mta is more capable, just this is a
nice, easy debconf driven way to configure your mailserver)

Lots more info in /usr/share/doc/<package name> eg:
 /usr/share/doc/exim4-base/
