Hmmm, not quite. I was looking for something in the middle, an event that
might still class as a little more than going out for pints and a burger
and chips. People attending the conference are going to be tied up during
the daytime with various meetings and BoFs and talks. So that leaves the
evening time, and although I honestly do think the wardriving idea is good,
I'm not sure how practical it would be to do it at night-time nor would
everyone have the equipment needed to participate. (Not to mention how
wrecked I'm likely to be in the evening time... :)

Someone recommended The Dublin Literary Pub Crawl
[http://www.dublinpubcrawl.com] , and I checked it out. It definitely seems
more along the lines of what I was hoping for, a different mix of going out
for a few pints and a bit of Dublin history told by actors. Unfortunately,
they only take 50 people per night, and I was hoping to have one event that
involves everybody at the same time.

Failte Ireland suggested the Guinness Storehouse and the Old Jameson
Distillery, but again these seem like daytime activities.

I was really looking for suggestions. I'd be interested to hear what anyone
else has done for conferences they've participated in or hosted, or
activities that anyone might have heard that other visiting groups take
part in. Even if you've participated in some sort of tour or activity
around Dublin with relatives or friends, and think they might be able to
accommodate 150 people in the evening, I'd like to hear about it!
