I had a similar situation where I needed to update the Google cache
with a redacted page. I couldn't find a documented way to do this, so
I submitted the address to the remove tool, on the basis that it would
force the page to be crawled (to check if the page still existed). The
cache was updated with the new page a day or two later. Granted this
might have been because of a normal cache update, but trying the
remove tool can't hurt.
