[ILUG] Debian AMD64 SATA Install?

You probably need a newer kernel that has the drivers for this SATA
controller.  You have a few options, including, but not limited to:

1)  o  Set the SATA Controller to PATA emulation in the BIOS (will be slow).
    o  Install sarge.
    o  Add the unstable sources to your sources.list
    o  Set your apt.preferences to be higher for sarge than unstable
    o  Install the latest kernel from unstable (called linux-image now).
    o  Turn off PATA emulation in the BIOS.
    o  Cross your fingers.

    This is what I did with a new dell recently.


2)  Grab the sid install CD's and run unstable.


3)  Try another distro, ubuntu seems to keep up with this stuff better...
