 I should have been more precise: this laptop does not have a cd/floppy
 AND it has no cd/floppy bay. AFAICT it's not similar to a C610, at least
 in this regard.

 It has a connector at the back which I presume is for a docking station,
 and an IDE connector for an external media bay.

 It does support "Cardbus NIC" as a boot device, it seems, so I might play
 around with tftp and Ubuntu.
