[ILUG] Hard Drive crash?

Many thanks for all your suggestions.

Don't ask me how, but the problem seems to have fixed itself (at least for 
the time being). I turned on the laptop again having left it for 10-15 mins 
and lo and behold it booted normally. No sign of any problems!!

Haven't tried it today so not sure about its current status but 
hopefully..:) Definitely gotta do a backup this evening just in case things 
go pearshaped again and are non-recoverable the next time.

I was getting a few problems looking at a pdf file. I was using Konquerer 
and on clicking on the file, not all pages would show. The application 
seemed to slow down. A copy of it was running when I went to shutdown last 
night. Maybe this was the problem?
