I've no experience with opteron, but I reckon it should work, its the  
same codebase as EM64T, init?

Correct, but realplayer should have this built in non?
Thats a question, I never use realplayer on linux.

Hmm, x86_64 systems can have x86 apps/libs installed along side  
without a hitch.
An example is openmanage on dell servers, they provide X86 rpm's for  
use on X86_64 systems, works grand.

So the question is, what libs is it moaning about exactly?
I would try installing them and re-test for the craic.
