Let me guess, you're using ssh on OS X...


I've seen this behaviour before. I think I went investigating before,
but never got very far. I suspect it's connected to the default way ssh
is setup on OS X by Apple.


If you do work out what's causing it and what knobs effect it, please
let the list know, I for one would be quite interested...
