Based on the physics, it shouldn't matter.  A vertical drive that is not
spun up will be 'hanging' on its bearing but, once it spins up it will
'float'.  The heads are so light that there'll be no appreciable
gravitational effect on them.  Now, changing a spinning drive from
horizontal to vertical might be a different matter...
