[ILUG] Ubuntu regular or Kubuntu?

Or else, just install kubuntu, from the kubuntu install media, instead of
install the gnome version of ubuntu and then upgrading to KDE.

Just out of curiosity, why would you choose ubuntu for a server over Debian?
