There is a workaround specifically for cdrom's.

sysctl dev.cdrom.lock=0

this at startup (or the same variable in /etc/sysctl.conf) makes it possible 
to eject a mounted CD. A dirty workaround, I admit.

I don't know if setting it specifically if you have a stuck mount will help.
