Hi
I have a Toshiba Satellite A30-203 and am checking if the hardware and
everything in it will work OK under Ubuntu 6.10 before I install it. I
emailed Toshiba in the UK and they said that since none of their product
range is designed for use with Linux OS's they do not test for this &
cannot advise on this.
So I did a quick search on the net and came across Puppylinux,
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/LaptopsWorking, which has my laptop listed.
Im assuming then that linux, be it Ubuntu or Puppy, will work well on
this laptop, yes?
I also have a Belkin 802.11g wireless notebook network card, Model
F5D7010 version 3000 (UK), which I got with the Eircom broadband
account. Belkin replied to an email saying the drivers for this for
linux are not available, and something about getting drivers from the
adaptors' chipset website. I dont know. I was told to visit
http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader/, but this wireless card is not
mentioned here.
Is anyone else using this card under linux (Ubuntu) and what drivers did
you need/get?
Thanks
Dermot
