Has anyone got the card from Maplin - Mercury ( www.kobian.com ->
http://www.mercury-pc.com/product-detail.php?link=3Dp-addcards&subtitle=3DA=
dd-On%20Cards&productid=3D97)
card to work.
I have been trying. It is on Dapper Drake and with Compiz - and My
various attempts have only gotten TvTime to produce a screen with a few
slanted bars of "interference" - with no menus.
Also the machine has taking to crashing any time I try to test out the
TVTime.
I have attached lspci and dmesg outputs.
By the way - I do not understand why the stuff about setkeycodes is in
the end of the dmesg! Can anyone tell Me?
I realise that the Compiz (and it wasn't me who converted to it ) may be
adding to my troubles.or it may be something that went wrong following
on a display crash.
Coincidentally - I am having all sorts of problems with the display
since I plugged the card in and started to futter with it.
-> Title bars have vanished from the windows
-> Top menus do not appear on most apps
-> Opened apps dock themselves resolutely to top left of the screen
and are immovable
-> Opened apps are not properly positioned with parts of the app off
the screen to the top and left
-> Window frames have vanished
-> Workspace switching has disabled itself
-> Wireless keyboard has become unreliable to say the least
Thank you
