[ILUG] unfreezing(?) the printhead of an ink-jet printer?

I was in CartridgeWorld recently and noticed a rather depressing sign. It
says that all Epson printers must be used frequently (i.e. once-a-day or

As the Epson printer design has the print-heads in the printer and not in
the cartridge (as with others -- HP printers, half of Canon's printers),
when the print-heads get clogged, and then damaged in Epson printers, it's
time to bin the printer itself. Yer man in the shop said that Epson is
reluctant to fix these printers, and advises against using them at all
unless you require to use it every day.

I've lost a C84 too. And I've decided that colour is over-rated anyway.
