Home (.cxoffice/../hosts) is on a separate physical drive, so 
unfortunately it's out.

Is there a way to run a cron "cp" as\just before the box shuts down,
that would overwrite the /etc/hosts with the updated version from 
.cxoffice/...?

Even after my nap still wrecked...
