Ajaxterm is an alternative to MindTerm. I use ajaxterm and its very handy
when there is restrictive proxies in place, e.g. Hotels etc.

Its on apt in Debian and Ubuntu :-)
  apt-get install ajaxterm

In combining ajaxterm with apache and mod_proxy, a https connection can be
created to your server. My how-to is at:

Another alternative is anyterm, however it isn't on apt, and you'd have to
do some compiling to get it setup.
