HI Paul,

I went into Dixons and bought a mini-system, which has an iPod port and takes USB storage devices. Sounds great, nice and neat, works well, even charges the iPod and was less that Eur 200. Cant for the life of me remember the name but can check if you want when I get home.

So...

Any opinions on the best[1] way to "mp3 enable" one's living room?

I've had those micro-FM-radio-station thingies suggested to me. Also
suggested is that many new stereos have USB connectors (they can read
MP3s from USB storage??).

Ideally I'm looking for something that will fit in nicely with a
micro-hifi stack (e.g. cause it is one :) ), with a consumer-friendly
UI.

Kevin Lyda has/had an older 'slimp3' thingy, and I see they're still
in business making some nice devices, so I might look there unless
people have other, better suggestions.

NB: I'm not an audiophile, so 'best' for me does not include
gold-plated cables with teflon coated jackets, etc. My 'best' tends
to revolve around cost..

regards,
