Indeed, suspicious, paranoid maybe, but I regularly scan my own ports 
(from the Outside).

In the days when I installed business systems, I always gave them a 
print out of the main ports scan and explained it. After all I a lways 
made them pay for a  firewall.

A good firewall removes/hides Windows/Linxux/OSX vulnerabilities before 
they are patched, and before you even know they exist..

Even with super duper Broadband, I found it lacking in humour to see 
500+ spam on my mail server today (Normally I don't look, content to let 
it do its own thing as I can't remember last time there was a false 
positive. I'm noticing a rise in non-detection though.).

Are eircom STILL delivering all tinet.ie  mail? Surely it's all spam? I 
don't even check it, anything from/to tinet.ie is deleted automatically.
