Have you tried using Synergy, it's a software based KVM, of course it
won't switch monitor output for you. But if your monitor supports one or
more inputs then your grand. I have had it set up in various situations
- laptop beside monitor and I roll the mouse of one screen and onto the
other. And sharing the one monitor and switching with a key press &
button press on monitor. It has it's draw backs, but it's free and it
works.
