Hi,
Without starting a flame war I would like some advice on setting up Oracle
10g on Linux.
I currently have an Oracle 10g cluster set up on 2 Redhat AS machines
running Oracle RAC. I set up the Redhat AS on these, wasn't invloved in choosing the OS.
I need to set up a third database server and would like some advice on
what distribution to go with.
Price would not be the deiciding factor.
Oracle recommend Redhat or Suse. I would personally prefere Redhat out of
the 2. Any other distributions that are not recommended by Oracle wouldn't
be looked on favourably.
There is a major price difference between Redhat AS and ES, I don't think
I need AS, but the current RAC servers have AS. Any thoughts on this? Anything
missing from ES that I would need.
There is also the Oracle Unbreakable Linux, has anyone used this? Is it
worth trying?
Peter
