[ILUG] Switch off - leave on?

Personally I leave my desktop on all the time in the office, I see no
point to shut it down unless I really need to. A lot of the time I
would be logged into remote machines running large test-suites and
it's too much hassle to come in - in the morning and load everything
back up.
Many desktop machines are used as servers (in some companies), so I
don't see any reason why not to leave them on, Linux is a stable OS
that rarely requires rebooting, so I don't see the point. Of course
if I was footing the hardware and ESB bill, then I might apply
differently.

A the good old 48 day tied the OS in so many knots that you had to
reboot, good 'ole MS. :-) (And I think it was still there till Win
98)
