Current Entry level FC connected SATA kit from Emc will have absolutely
*no* problem sustaining this data transfer rate, from personal
experience, their stuff from about a year ago comes "very" close to that
level of performance, though the key things to be wary of are network
hardware capable of actually doing proper GigE AND that you've got an FC
adapter which wont drive the server load up to a gazillion during
sustained writes.. ie avoid the entry level FC cards (QLA200 series
comes to mind). Once that's in it's down to the black magic art of
kernel/fs/nfs tuning!

as for budgets.. if your not willing to spend the appropriate amt of
cash then you shouldn't be doing it, which I'm sure Niall already knows
;) 7.5-10k should cover the complete cost of this from the ground up,
less if you know how to efficiently "operate" a Dell sales Droid ;)
