Exact same can happen with Word. Even the *same* version of Word. 
Both OO and Word are heavily influenced by local configuration when 
displaying documents.

You should have no expectation that a Word document will have same 
layout when viewed on another machine. That's just not what Word is 
designed for..

Use PDF for that.
