They're not AFAIK DVD-VR. DVD+RW is what it says on the disc.

This appears not to be an option. dvdisaster is about adding error
correction metadata to dvds as you make them so that errors can be
recovered as the discs age.
Gotta learn how to do linux-based TV recording and playback or buy a HDD
recorder... Any good starting places for the recording / playback system?
