Maybe I am not using the latest release but it seems not as good as:

This seems quite popular.
(Well at least it scales to the local screen resolution by default, my home
machine is very humble.)

or
rdesktop

(ok so it appears to be Microsoft centric but there are GNU/Linux
implementations for client or server, whichever way around you call them.)
