This PC is already in use as a DVD/avi player. Besides, I don't intend to 
purchase a separate TV soon, my DVI 19" monitor is good enough for now. HD is 
not really an issue for me, although I'd prefer to have it in case I record

Not a first priority but can eventually be done.

Not a priority at all because of a 3 year old in the house. What good is an IR 
remote which one needs to constantly hide, or it can be broen or dropped in 
an unknowl place? The keyboard (wired) is more convenient.

A cheap setbox will have a SCART output and I'd also have to buy an 
analog-to-VGA (or to DVI) converter to use it with the monitor. Or use an 
analog TV PCI card, which I do have, but the noise will be there anyway! 
Besides, the digital-analog-digital conversions will affect quality.

A setbox with HDMI can be used with a simple DVI converter but is not cheap.
