Well I don't have access to external mail at work, and the only time im going to use this group is at work, so I guess i might as well just leave then. Whether it "might need better legal council" or not is none of my concern. Not everyone has access to external email providers while at work, so I guess that rules them out from participating.

I didn't say that at all. There are plenty of email providers out
there from which you can post to the list.
Also, you shouldn't ask your admins to remove it for you - you should
have them remove it because its best for the company (this might need
better legal counsel), but that's another discussion (and already
archived here and elsewhere).
