Remember that all points in the chain are cached; most queries will not be
going to the root servers, as your nameserver will have cached the list of
nameservers for "com", "org" etc. also. And if you make multiple queries
for systems inside the same domain, the NS records for that domain will also
be cached.

They would say that, wouldn't they? Personally, I think that returning
results which are deliberately different from what the domain owners have
specified is evil, full stop.
