I'm absolutely on Rory's side here. I'm an early adopted in the genre,  
with an EEE 701, and I bought it for certain very specific reasons,  
for which it does the job (the screen width is the only reason I'd  
change it - side scrolling web pages is annoying). Now as it happens,  
I've actually used it very little for the primary reason I bought it,  
and it has been used mostly to view video and to stream RTE Radio when  
I'm travelling - both tasks for which the supplied software is adequate.

Apparently I could install Ubuntu, work quite hard, and eventually  
have it boot in only 50% more time than stock but I fail to see why  
I'd bother.
