Hi Sher

well, you will have to evaluate the software of course. I have 2 
suggestions, neither of which I have a clue will fulfill your requirements:

AutoCAD -> QCad
3D Max -> Blender

looking at etabs I assume you mean http://www.csiberkeley.com/) I can 
only imagine using wine or a virtual machine or a citrix server, the 
latter may well be your best option.

PS: you should do this kind of research _before_ talking to your boss. 
You also should build an evaluation system to answer these kind of 
question before you commit to the jump.
