I have a version of PuTTY on E65, a generic S60 version
If it's JAVA (can't remember), then there is an S60 bug that can happen
on a new phone (not sure how, but seen it personally once) where ANY
attempet jad or jar install fails at about 80% progress bar.
A hardware reset (back up everything 1st) fixes it. *
I think the one I have is generic S60 symbian native:
putty_s60v3_1.4beta1_20070303.sisx
I've certainly used ssh to centos and debian via WiFi on E65, but not
sure which app :-) I used . Single biggest advantage of e60 symbian over
iphone is not just slug slow Java, but a gazillion free and pay for
decent native apps.
More Likely Issue
The other two issues is a signing bug where cert expires and shouldn't.
If phone date now doesn't work try JUL 2007 etc, if you set it earlier
than the cert date it won't install, but you get a different error.
Also in App Manager:
set Software installations: ALL
Online certif check off
You can't actually install unsigned apps at all. But with your own IMEI
you can create your own cert for own installs free. (google).
*Hardware Factory Reset
***#7370#** (*#RES0#)- Reset your phone to the default factory settings.
Usually you will need this code when you want to reset your phone back
to the same condition when you got it for the first time. When the phone
ask for security code, the default one is 12345.
